Reply Showcases First Cloud-Native Robotic Application on Federated European Edge

Reply news

Reply has presented the first Cloud-Native Robotic Application deployed across the newly federated European Edge Continuum. This deployment, featured at the Mobile World Congress 2026, utilises the federated infrastructures of five of Europe’s largest telecom operators that launched the European Edge Continuum as part of the European IPCEI-CIS initiative (Important Projects of Common European Interest on Next Generation Cloud Infrastructure and Services).

What does this mean?

In technical terms, "Cloud-Native" refers to software built specifically to leverage the flexibility and speed of a cloud environment. Traditionally, these applications are confined to a single network or national provider. By running on a European Edge Continuum, Reply is proving that high-performance industrial software can now function seamlessly across borders without technical interruption. The application allows a robot to maintain its intelligence and connection while moving across different operator networks, effectively "following" the task regardless of geographical and operator boundaries.

Why is this important?

The Reply solution represents the first real Cloud-Native Application seamlessly deployed across a federated European Edge Continuum. This achievement is a significant step forward in terms of operational continuity, new business models, sovereign infrastructure, and AI-powered scalability. Reply Cloud-Native Robot Application deployment proves that the technological breakthroughs of IPCEI-CIS translate directly into economic competitiveness for European industry, boosting the adoption of applications which overcome any kind of technological lock-in.
