CISERO showcases sovereign cloud-edge ambitions at VivaTech 2026
30, June, 2026
CISERO took part in VivaTech 2026, held in Paris from 17 to 20 June. The project was hosted on the Institut Mines-Télécom booth, with a dedicated presence on Saturday 20 June, the event's inaugural Festival Day, when VivaTech opened its halls to students, entrepreneurs and the wider public alongside its established business audience.
This year's edition, the tenth since VivaTech's launch, drew a record 200,000 attendees from 165 countries and was widely shaped by a single recurring theme: European technological sovereignty. With 175 sessions carrying the word "sovereignty" in their title, the event offered a fitting backdrop for CISERO to present its work in supporting IPCEI-CIS in building a trusted, interoperable European cloud-edge ecosystem.
Representing the project at the booth and throughout the event were Rob Carrillo and Christian Attanasio (Trust-IT Services), together with Guillaume Bunel and Christophe Boutrou (TeraLab). Rob Carrillo delivered a presentation on the Startup Germany stage, setting out how CISERO supports SMEs and startups in adopting the results emerging from the IPCEI-CIS and in engaging with Europe's sovereign, interoperable cloud-edge infrastructure.

Commenting on the project's participation, Rob Carrillo, Communication Lead for CISERO, said:
"This year, with VivaTech becoming another forum in the wider discussions on European technological sovereignty, CISERO was glad to highlight the developments in the IPCEI-CIS, where the goal is not to create another isolated alternative cloud-edge platform, but to build a trusted, interoperable European ecosystem where companies can innovate securely. Showcasing the CISERO Platform, we highlighted how we will bring together the results, capabilities and use cases emerging from the IPCEI-CIS projects and make them accessible to SMEs and startups, helping them adopt sovereign digital technologies faster."
CISERO's presence at VivaTech reflected a broader pattern observed across the event, where sovereignty was discussed not as an abstract policy goal but as an infrastructure and adoption challenge, spanning data control, interoperability and the pace at which smaller players can access cloud and edge capabilities developed under European funding. The project's engagement with visitors, entrepreneurs and researchers at the IMT booth and on the Startup Germany stage contributed directly to that conversation, positioning CISERO as a practical bridge between IPCEI-CIS outputs and the SME and startup community it aims to serve.
The CISERO team thanked everyone who visited the booth, attended the presentation, and took part in the discussions, describing events such as VivaTech as valuable opportunities to connect with innovators, entrepreneurs, researchers and policymakers from across Europe.
