ResEvo ASK.BI UNS, the IT/OT connectivity layer of the ASK.BI platform, built for manufacturing SMEs

ResEvo ASK.BI UNS is a Unified Namespace layer that connects machines, sensors and business systems into one contextualised, real-time data structure across the edge-cloud continuum.

Description

ResEvo ASK.BI UNS is the IT/OT connectivity layer of the ASK.BI platform, built for manufacturing SMEs that need visibility into their operations before they can move on to analytics and AI. It collects data from the shop floor and from business systems, standardises and contextualises it, and publishes it in a single MQTT-based Unified Namespace that every application in the company can consume.

Instead of building point-to-point integrations between machines, MES, ERP and analytics, companies get a single source of truth for operational data: structured, named consistently, and available in real time. ASK.BI UNS can be deployed on-premises at the edge, so production data stays under the company’s control.

ASK.BI UNS is developed within the IPCEI-CIS project as part of the 8ra initiative for a European cloud-edge continuum, in a consortium led by Kontron. Within the same initiative, ResEvo cooperates with Tilde (Latvia) on the ASK.BI AI assistant, which lets users ask questions about business and production data in everyday language and get answers as charts and tables. The assistant builds on the data that ASK.BI UNS connects and contextualises across IT and OT. Only the conversational AI model runs in Tilde’s cloud, while sales, production and operational data remain in the customer’s chosen environment.

Key features

  • Unified Namespace: One MQTT-based, hierarchically structured namespace for all OT and IT data in the company.
  • Digital Twin Builder: Models machines, lines and plants as digital twins, so raw signals become contextualised information.
  • ASK.BI UNS Explorer: A contextualised view of the namespace for browsing and checking live data.
  • Broad OT connectivity: Ignition as the primary machine connectivity layer, with support for OPC UA/DA, Modbus TCP/RTU, EUROMAP 63/77 and IO-Link sensors, including legacy machines.
  • Data sovereignty: On-premises and edge deployment with Keycloak-based identity and access management.
  • Conversational AI with Tilde: The ASK.BI AI assistant, built on an agent-based architecture developed jointly by ResEvo and Tilde, answers natural-language questions, handles follow-ups, and creates or modifies dashboards through conversation.
  • Fully local option: ASK.BI LLM for organisations that need the language model on-premises as well.
