European Industry 5.0 Summit 2025
The European Industry 5.0 Summit 2025 will take place on 26–27 November 2025 at the Four Points by Sheraton Ljubljana Mons in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Organised by the Industry 5.0 Institute in cooperation with Technology Park Ljubljana, the event forms part of the European Blockchain Week and will be conducted in English. The agenda is provisional and subject to change, with updates to be announced as the programme evolves.
The Summit will gather representatives from the European Commission, leading universities, technology companies, and pioneering Industry 5.0 initiatives. Participants will engage with real-world use cases, witness humanoid robots in action, and explore the convergence of physical and digital spaces through the CityVerse and Industrial Metaverse.
Why It Is Important to the CISERO Community (IPCEI-CIS Projects)
The European Industry 5.0 Summit 2025 intersects directly with the goals of the IPCEI-CIS community: promoting human-centric, secure, and sustainable digital infrastructures for Europe. By addressing the convergence of cloud, edge, AI, and blockchain technologies, the Summit contributes to the shared vision of a federated, interoperable digital ecosystem.
Of particular relevance to the IPCEI-CIS and CISERO community is the Plenary Roundtable “Industry 5.0 Powered by European Cloud & Blockchain Infrastructure and Services” (12:00–12:45). This session will gather key figures involved in the development of federated European digital infrastructures, including Giovanni Frattini (Engineering and 8ra, representative of IPCEI-CIS), Steffen Schwalm (msg), Dražen Kapusta (Hashnet & 8ra), and others, moderated by Tonia Damvakeraki (University of Nicosia). The discussion will explore how cloud and blockchain services, supported by initiatives like IPCEI-CIS, are enabling interoperability, security, and sovereignty in Europe’s digital and industrial ecosystems.
Later in the afternoon, another key session for the CISERO and IPCEI-CIS audience will be the Workshop “8ra and Lab8ra Pilots and Presentations” (15:30–17:00). Led by Giovanni Frattini and Dražen Kapusta, this workshop will introduce the Lab8ra initiative and showcase practical pilots such as Hashnet’s SIChain network, illustrating how 8ra’s federated architecture and experimental environments contribute to the broader European effort toward a connected cloud-edge continuum.
For the CISERO community, the event represents a valuable opportunity to follow developments where industrial innovation meets the architectural and governance models being advanced within IPCEI-CIS.
