Data Center World Europe 2026
Data Center World Europe will take place on 13–14 October 2026 at the VIECON – Vienna Congress & Convention Center in Vienna, Austria. Organised by Informa under the globally established Data Centre World brand, this new European edition brings together data centre operators and facility leaders, energy sector professionals, investment and advisory specialists, and engineering and construction firms from both the established FLAP-D markets (Frankfurt, London, Amsterdam, Paris, Dublin) and emerging Southern and Eastern European regions.
The programme is built around four strategic tracks — Securing & Deploying Energy, Optimising Performance & Efficiency, Building Enabling Ecosystems, and Delivering at Speed — with keynotes and sessions addressing grid bottlenecks, AI workload demands, sovereign and off-grid infrastructure models, and the regulatory requirements shaping sovereign AI infrastructure in Europe. The event is co-located with Network X, giving attendees direct access to telecom operators and connectivity leaders working on full fibre and 6G rollout.
This event matters for the IPCEI-CIS community because it puts a number on the exact constraint the initiative is designed to help solve. Sessions such as "Can Europe triple capacity without breaking the grid?" and "What EU regulation requires of sovereign AI infrastructure" speak directly to the physical and regulatory realities behind federated, sovereign cloud infrastructure — the same terrain IPCEI-CIS partners are working through on interconnection, energy access, and infrastructure delivery speed. With Europe's data centre capacity set to double by 2030 and interconnection times stretching to 7–10 years, the discussions in Vienna offer a concrete, energy-and-grid-level view of the deployment challenges that sovereign cloud projects like IPCEI-CIS must ultimately be built on top of.
